September 24th Newsletter
Hello PES Familie,Happy fall!This school year is just flying by! It is hard to believe it is almost October! What an amazing start to our school year we have had- our students are working so hard and we are all happy that we get to be back together in one of our favorite places- PES!Mrs. Herrman: We have a new math program, HMH Into Math, and our students are doing really well with it! We have added a homework component to math this year and families are doing amazing at getting it done! Reach out if you need help.Valley High School has asked that we reach out and let families know that students attending VHS sports events must be accompanied by a parent and stay in the stands unless going to concessions or the restroom. Behavior has been a safety issue and keeping our kids safe is our top priority.Fall conferences will be on October 15 and 17 from 4 - 8 pm. We will have a book fair on both nights as well. The Sign Up Genius Page will go out the first week of October. We will have our wonderful Trunk or Treat sponsored by PTO on October 25 from 4 - 6 pm. This event is held in the PES school parking lot! We need trunks and lots of our students to attend and get some treats.:) Look for more details from PTO on Dojo and in Thursday folders!The Platteville/Gilcrest Fire Department will be helping PES learn about fire prevention week next week, October 1-4. Look for information from your teacher about the smokehouse experience and when your child will be participating.The Dollar General is open starting at 7:00 am! The manager has asked her corporate office to let her open at 7 instead of 8 so that she can serve parents, students, and staff before school when needed! Thanks, DGOur next PTO meeting will be tomorrow, September 25, in the school library from 4 - 5:30 pm. We will be presenting our plan for academic goals for the school year and our counselor, Mrs. B, will be presenting on bullying in anticipation of bullying prevention week.
